Bueno hoy no simplemente postearé un disco, sino que haré una breve reseña de lo que es la monstruosidad de DREAM THEATER.
Dream Theater es una banda y sin temor a equivocarme, la más grande del Progressive Metal.
Bueno allá por Septiembre de 1985, tres estudiantes del conservatorio de música de Berklee, se unieron para hacer una banda, la cual llevaba por nombre Majesty pero por problemas legales, ya que otra banda usaba ya ese nombre tuvieron que cambiarse el nombre, así el padre de Mike Portnoy (Baterista), les sugirió el nombre por un viejo teatro de su ciudad natal. Y así quedó.

A lo largo de su carrera han tenido un sonido muy característico, cambios de tiempos impresionantes, abarcan bastantes géneros y creo que algo que hay que resaltar es que son (tal vez) los primero en hacer un meta álbum; Esto es, un disco que se extiende desde
Finally Free en Scenes from a Memory hasta Octavarium. En otras palabras con el riff /acorde/nota que termina la última canción de cada disco, es con el mismo acorde que comienza el nuevo disco, el final de este meta álbum fue dado por la canción octavarium, del disco del mismo nombre. Lo terminan haciendo que el final de la canción sea el mismo acorde que con el que comienza, haciendo así un círculo... Scenes from a Memory-> <- Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence -> <- Train of Thought -> <-Octavarium (Termina con el "círculo" de octavarium).

Aunque anteriormente era el logo de Majesty, lo han usado como el logo característico de DT y como alusión a la banda original de DT, se le ha denominado el Majesty logo.

Con la NWOBHM varias bandas surgieron entre ellas están Iron maiden y Def Leppard, a pesar de ser contemporáneas tienen estilos muy diferentes.
Def Leppard tiene un sonido más rítmico, el cual fue su representante a lo largo de su carrera.
Para muchos el género es "Glam Metal" no es el caso, ya que el glam se caracterizaba porque las bandas se maquillaban (véanlo que para ellos era muestra de hombría al hacer algo que los demás hombres no se atrevían, yo digo que era puro jo... D: ). Si bien tienen el sonido más o menos parecido, yo los pongo entre Heavy/Hard Rock. No tan al purop estilo de heavy, pero heavy al fin y al cabo =D.
